The motor trade insurance broker called today with a list of quotesfor us to look over. My partner and I have to decide on which quote we will take and that will decide how much we can afford to pay out of pocket for each incident.

The motor trade insurance broker has put a cap on these different policies in intervals of 50k for our company to choose from. We own a construction company and have to have coverage for our company trucks, just like we need to have all of our employee’s health insurance. We have to be covered for our equipment. We wouldn't be able to keep or business operational otherwise.

Having a policy for each piece of equipment will insure that every item will be either fixed or replaced should an accident happen. The motor trade insurance broker also said he would hold on this set of quotes for a few days to give us time to go over all of them and make our decisions. I like this motor trade insurance broker and when it is time to renew which ever policy with decide to go with I will use the same company again.

Several days went by and neither of us had time to sit down with the other partner and an accident occurred. One of our employees hit the building with the back of a hauler. Luckily no one was injured and the hauler is sporting a scar is all.

This incident put us both in gear to get a decision made and quickly. Our current policy would have covered anything that needed to be covered anyway, but it was the kick in the pants we needed to get us on track again.

You never know when something could happen and today is as good a day as any to get back to the broker about our new policy decisions.

We decided we could afford 5k out of pocket for the cheaper rate, and a cap of 300k for each accident for equipment. We went up on our cap because of some of the newer equipment we have acquired this past 6 months. Now it is just a matter of waiting for the new policy to be written up and we will go in and sign on the dotted line.

Insurance does give you peace of mind. Now we can get on with our work and know we have coverage for anything when something happens.
